RESILIENCE National Consortium in Slovenia

The RESILIENCE National Consortium in Slovenia has been officially established, with the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Theology, as its coordinator for two years.

Towards a National Consortium

In 2022, the first meetings to establish a national RESILIENCE consortium began in Slovenia. The Faculty of Theology at the University of Ljubljana took over the coordination with the aim of establishing the first consortium in Slovenia dedicated to the study, digitization and integration of various theological and religious sources – be it from old archives or from the latest research on religiosity and the meaning of religion for Slovenes.

The establishment of the national consortium is an important step in the development of science and networking in Slovenia, which is a milestone for the University of Ljubljana as well as for all other national partners.

Goal

The first goal of the consortium is to work on national and international development. In the coming years, the consortium will digitise important theological and religious resources on Slovenian territory, and will also work on bringing together the already digitised content in one place. In addition, the consortium will endeavour to continue the study of religious and theological resources in Slovenia and search for content that reflects current issues in this field.

The Slovenian national consortium will also be able to contribute its knowledge and experience to the work of the international RESILIENCE consortium and actively cooperate with partners from other countries.

Fundamental Answers

Prof. Dr. Janez Vodičar, dean of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Theology:

»The study of religion has always led to fundamental answers to the basic questions of human existence. By exploring the field of religion in the past and present, the Slovenian RESILIENCE Consortium aims to pave the way for the human being to remain at the center of science.«
